SA’s Anelisa Lamola exits X Factor UK after being booted by Sharon Osbourne
Anelisa Lamola, a 26-year-old barmaid who now lives in London but originates from South Africa, wowed the judges with her breathtaking performance during the auditions.
In Sunday night’s challenge Lamola sang for the X factor judging panel; Simon Cowell, Dannii Minogue, Louis Walsh and Sharon Osbourne. Anelisa sang Amazing Grace, performing last with all of the seats full.
Her performance was criticized by Simon Cowell, he remarked: “To me that sounded a little bit shrieky“. As Anelisa petitioned Sharon Osbourne for a seat, Sharon replied: “I’m going to have to say no. There’s six other people’s lives [in the seats] I have to say no, I love you sweet girl, I do.”
