City of Cape Town grants permission for Zuma Must Fall Freedom day march
Cape Town – The Zuma Must Fall protest march has been granted by the City of Cape Town and is set to take place on Freedom Day, 27 April 2016 from 12pm.
Freedom Day is a South African National Public Holiday, it celebrates freedom and commemorates the first post-apartheid elections held on that day in 1994.
The #ZumaMustFall campaign group has had meetings with the relevant City of Cape Town parties and have ensured that they are allowed to march, en masse, on Freedom day. The group is yet to publish detail regarding the particular route and times.
Other organizations are expected apply for permits in other cities to coincide with the planned Freedom Day, public holiday march.
