LISTEN: SAfm interview, Hlaudi Motsoeneng gets smashed by callers live on-air

SABC COO, Hlaudi Motsoeneng received a severe a tongue lashing this morning live on SAfm by callers on the popular The Forum At 8, radio show.

Listeners rang up The Forum at 8 hosted by Sakina Kamwendo on SAfm earlier today after the show’s host asked for their views on the SABC COO’s decision to ban all violent public protest footage on all SABC channels.

Callers did not hold back. Motsoeneng vanished during the interview and was substituted by the SABC spokesperson, Kaizer Kganyago. This tactic failed to deter callers as they continued to engage and voice their opinions.

Mr Motsoeneng says they went to the provinces and that they indicated they don’t want to see the violence. Is there any proof that this was done, or is he just making it up?

Nobody asked me if I wanted to see these News stories on SABC. Hlaudi says that you can’t “compare the Apartheid government with a democratic society”. But if certain stories are withheld from the public, then the SABC will then be contravening the public’s right to hear an unbiased version of the News. That will then be an attempt to attack the democratic rights of each South African individual.
